It all starts with a spark! The 45th annual Macy’s Fourth Of July Fireworks,
a high flying, electrifying beacon of powerful patriotism, came alive in 2021 like never before. Heralded as America’s biggest summer celebration, the show and subsequent campaign represent both a city and nation on the rise. Scrappy, courageous, and alive with the promise of tomorrow the Macy’s Fireworks campaign focuses on a strong sense of pride in our heritage, with a renewed sense of hope and a defiant determination to better our future - together.

The 2021 Macy’s Fireworks Branding System - created in collaboration with famed designer, illustrator, typographer and very proud New Yorker Jon Contino - includes over fifty unique illustrations, dozens of logo variations, twelve wordmarks, and two custom typefaces, all carried out creatively and strategically across each and every facet of the Macy’s brand and beyond. Upon the completion of the Macy’s Fireworks rebrand, all of Macy’s Branded Entertainment Events were presented as a family of brands - each with a distinct point of view - for the very first time in the team’s nearly 100 year history, repositioning us as a public facing powerhouse in the entertainment history, uniting our fans, and amplifying our voices with all new year-round storytelling.
